It depends on what you want to do with the costume, like what theme you want to do with it. Some of the best costumes if you want something that looks pretty and cool are witch, vampire, or fairy costumes. They’re cute, come in lots of colors, are easy to find, and you can add different accessories and bits to make it different. If you like something less girly, you can be one of your favorite characters from tv, movies, or books. That can be fun, and there’s a story to tell with the costume. Of course, if you want something more creative and funny, here’s some of my favorites of those type:

Ostrich Jockey- There’s an inflatible ostritch with fake legs on top, and your legs are the ostrichs’ . I know it seems kind of tacky, but everybody loves it because it’s original.

Half-and-Half: Be half angel and devil, happy and sad (like the theater symbol!) vampire and werewolf, mechanical and human, peanut butter and jelly, etc. etc. The list of opposites goes on and on, and it’s funny. You could also dress as one thing and get your friend to dress up as the other.

DiePod- An iPod costume that you fit inside, with an evil face drawn on it, and DiePod written on the back. You can add devil horns too, or sometimes people draw the face on the click wheel and show evil-related songs on the screen.

These ones are funny and very, very simple:

Three-Hole Punch- If you’ve ever seen The Office’s halloween episode, you know Jim’s costume, where he just taped three black circles of paper (vertically) on the side of his white shirt and made himself the 3-hole-punch version of Jim. It’s really simple, and if you need a quick costume, it works.

Upside-Down Clothes: Believe it or not, my friend won a costume contest with this. People loved it, and it’s really, really easy. You switch your pants with your shirt. That’s it. But it looks cool.(btw, you don’t need to cut a hole through anything, just have pants where you can see through the fabric) and don’t forget to put your shoes and socks on your hands, and gloves on your feet.

Face Paint: Just get your face painted really cool. You don’t even have to dress up, it can look so awesome. The possibilities are endless with face paint.
