I was sad to learn of her death. She did live a long time. She got out of the entertainment business and returned to her roots as an Evangelical Christian. Bettie not only has male admirers but also female admirers. Many women and girls copy her style. Betty’s per chant for corsets, lacy underwear, black stockings became her signature. She also had distinctive jet black hair and wore girlish bangs. Many of the productions she was involved in where censored. Scandalous back then but tame compared to today’ standards. She was famous as a pinup girl but she did much more in terms of nude photographs and some racy adult films.

Bettie was not accused of killing one of her husbands. The mug shot to which you refer was taken after her 3rd husband Harry Lear, called the police when Bettie threatened him and his children (by a previous marriage) with a knife.
