Question about Star Wars Revenge of the Sith?

I’ve been watching Star Wars Sundays on a national channel and last night it was Revenge of the Sith. Did anyone else have trouble making the jump from Anakin Skywalker with the pretty face to Darth Vadar and the voice of James Earl Jones? The minute they put the “Darth” costume on him……he was gone. The only time I had a glimmer of Anakin was when he asked what happened to Padme. I don’t know why but the transformation from one to the other just doesn’t “fit” right.
Anyone else see this?

Man … I have seen some BS answers on here about Star Wars but I think these take the cake … especially “steves95008″ … there is not one true statement in his insane ramble … not one.

As for your question … yes, in many ways it didn’t “fit” but if you dig deeper into the event I think you will find that you’re missing the point of his whole turn to the dark side. The very nature of the dark side is “ME” … all you care about is yourself and how powerful you can become. The little things like love go by the way side. Anakin’s turn is sad in that he first starts down the dark path to save Padme’s life and in the end he is the one who ends it. His turn is done in stages … it starts with the slaughter of the younglings at the Jedi Temple. You see a little more when he goes to talk to Padme about the “Jedi Uprising” and says that he is on the side of the Palpatine. Padme knows that something has changed about Anakin … that’s why she bursts into tears after he leaves … when Obi-Wan goes to talk to her about Anakin she KNOWS that he is right but she just can not bring herself to believe that the man she loves with all of her heart has turned into a monster and that she is the main reason for his turn. By the time she gets to Mustafar it is already too late to “save” him. In killing all the “enemy” leaders he stands at the very edge of his breaking point. When they are talking Padme can see that he is no longer the man she fell in love with … he is now driven by a lust for power and revenge and that he is using his love for her as an excuse to justify his actions. His final step to the dark side is when he Force chokes the woman he is supposed to love … that is something that Anakin would NEVER have done but for Darth Vader it is just a way to eliminate a road block on his quest for ultimate power. I remember when the rumors first came out that he was the one who killed Padme … many fans, myself included, were outraged at this … how could he be responsible for the death of the woman he loved more than life itself … in the end though it is this one scene that shows that his turn to the dark side is complete … as I said before, Anakin would never do anything to hurt Padme but Vader wouldn’t think twice about it. Using James Earl Jones as Vader’s voice after the mask went on is not really that big of a transformation as that was what Vader sounded like when he spoke. The change in his voice is also another example of his total turn to the dark side but it is also necessary because his voice is controlled by the “suit” so he doesn’t have much choice in the matter. His question about Padme and his reaction to Palpatine’s false claim is the last we see of Anakin Skywalker until ep VI.

“movievixin”s comment about the whole thing looking like it was “rough cut” is indeed true but it was meant to look that way. Another example of how the incredible power that rage & hate provide is, in the end, useless.

Vader is nothing like Grievous … nothing. Only about 50% of Vader is machine. Yes, Vader lost his arms and legs in the duel with Obi-Wan but the rest of him is still intact … so to speak anyways. Yes, without the suit Vader would die but that is because the suit helps him see, hear, and breathe but much of the other parts of his body still work in some fashion or another.

EDIT: Just a little more info on the answer given by “STEVES95008″ … I contacted him through Yahoo Answers to try and get some more info on his answer. When he replied back it was a “fire and brimstone” reply in which he said that those who don’t know what they are talking about, I assume he meant me, should keep their mouths shut and listen to people like him who did know what they were talking about. He then claimed to have worked at the “Ranch” and that he KNEW that he was right. By “Ranch” I’m assuming that he meant Skywalker Ranch. I replied to him telling him I didn’t believe him and asked for some kind of proof from him. Well he sent me back a reply in what I’m think was spanish, haven’t translated the whole thing yet but I’m sure it’s some kind of insult. I tried to reply to him and guess what … he no longer accepts emails or IMs from other members of Yahoo Answers … he has closed up his profile. I will be the first to admit that I can be a jerk when it comes to Star Wars and people who give obviously wrong or far fetched answers but I was completely civil with him and just wanted to know where he got his info. The old saying actions speak louder than words fits this to the tee. His actions show him to be a “pretender” who has no way to back up his facts because they are a figment of his own imagination. What a sad person he or she must be.
