STAR WARS- who is princess leia related to and hooked up with?
does anyone know if princess leia hooked up with luke skywalker in star wars? and who is she related to? kind of like a family tree?
As a true Star Wars nut I have to say that I find this question to be borderline offensive but I guess I can see why it would be asked. If you weren’t really into the movies it is a question that you wouldn’t know the answer to so …
Princess Leia is the twin sister of Luke Skywalker. Their parents were Anakin Skywalker and Padme Amidala. The budding “romance” that was shown in ep IV & ep V was at first supposed to be the way the story went as it is a little known fact that up until Lucas was writing the final duel between Luke and Vader in ep VI Leia was NOT the other Skywalker. Lucas was stumped on what he could have Vader say that would send Luke into a dark side fueled rage so he made Leia the “other” Skywalker and had Vader threaten her. Hearing Vader say that after he was done with him he would go after Leia sent Luke into a rage and he attacked his father in a dark side fuel rage the likes of which Vader, and even Palpatine, had never seen before. As the son of the “Chosen One” Luke’s potential of raw power in the Force was almost as high as his father’s before he ended up in the “suit”. The ironic part of that was that if Palpatine hadn’t opened his mouth to “gloat” over the way Luke had defeated Vader I’m pretty sure Luke would have killed Vader and then he probably would have turned on Palpatine and killed him also and then taken his place as Emperor. That brief moment of gloating by Palpatine cut through the rage that had over taken Luke and gave him the strength to denounce the dark side and declare himself a Jedi … like his father before him.
In the books of the EU (Expanded Universe) Han and Leia have married and have 3 children. Twins Jacen and Jaina and a second son they named Anakin in memory of their father. Anakin dies in a massive battle in the New Jedi Order book series. This series revolves around an attack in the Star Wars galaxy by a alien race from another galaxy called the Yuuzhan Vong. In the most recent story line of the books called the Legacy Of The Force, set about 40 years after the events of Return Of The Jedi, Han and Leia’s son Jacen falls to the dark side and becomes a Sith Lord and begins to take over the galaxy just as Vader and Palpatine had all those years ago. In the final battle brother and sister cross lightsaber blades with the future of the galaxy on the line. After a massive duel and fight Jaina finally kills the Sith Lord that used to be her brother and saves the galaxy from eternal darkness.
In the books Luke meets a woman named Mara Jade. Mara was at one time the personal agent of Palpatine called the “Emperor’s Hand”. After the duel between Luke and Vader in Ep V Palpatine doesn’t like the changes he sees happening in Vader and sends Mara on a mission to kill Luke. She is actually in Jabba’s palace in Return Of The Jedi in the fake role of a dancer. Palpatine sent her there to kill Luke when he came to rescue Han. Of course she failed in this mission and that set the events into motion that would end with Palpatine’s death. When they first meet Mara is filled with hate towards Luke and wants to kill him but finds that she needs him to help her with a couple of things and in doing that she learns that Palpatine didn’t want Luke killed because he had killed him … he wanted her to kill Luke as a final act of revenge on his father. At that time Mara didn’t know that Luke and Vader were father and son. Learning this turns Mara’s world upside down. In the end she does kill Luuke Skywalker … a clone of Luke’s. After that Luke and Mara’s paths cross more and more and the go from having respect for each other to being friends and eventually realizing that they are in love. They get married and during the New Jedi Order book series they have a son that they name Ben in honor of Obi-Wan’s nickname. Sadly she is killed in the recent Legacy Of The Force book series. What makes it even worse is that she is killed by Jacen Solo as the final task he must complete to mark his assension to the rank of Dark Lord Of The Sith.
So, as it stands now at the end of the Legacy Of The Force books series, Han and Leia are still together and one of their 3 children are still alive, Jaina. Luke’s wife is dead but his son Ben is alive and quickly growing into a very powerful Jedi like his father and mother.
And the story continues …
